There's no doubt about it; I put the EAT in CHEAT day. For the simple fact that "cheating" on your diet doesn't help you to achieve your goal any faster, it should be called a DEFEAT day. Admit your failings rather than justifying that your donut, ice cream, or candy bar WON'T interfere with how you look, feel, and perform. I'm not cheating when I over-indulge, I'm being defeated...and by what? A hunk of chocolate? I'm defeated when I cheat on all the healthy salads and lean meats with sweet treats. It's like passing up Fabio for Fat Bastard from Austin Powers. Why be defeated? Why cheat? The temptation of immediate gratification is not worth succombing to, when the results are nothing more than guilty gluttony. I'm sick and tired of being defeated. Time to get in the Zone. "Fabio, will you take me back?"

I do believe having "regular" chEAT days can undermine any workout program you're on. All you have to do is spend some time on the rower and see how many calories you use up...not nearly enough! Does this mean when I go on vacation to the "land of authentic mexican food", I will not cheat, I don't think so. Carne Asada grilled (Paleo Friendly) with tortillas, made that day (not so friendly)will pass my lips! I'm reminded of something Robb Wolf wrote, if you want a peanut butter sandwich, have one, but go out for it. That way you don't have the whole loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter in your house.I've worked too hard with my muscles whimpering to let it all go for food. You can undo all that you worked for in just one day a week of mindless eating!
