Bridger CrossFit Showdown
It's coming up on August 21st!
Have you registered yet ? Are you planning to come to Bozeman as part of the ONDEG cheering section?
So far, we have four athletes participating in the competition:
Christina is from Fairfield and she makes the drive to Choteau several times a week to suffer with her friends. On the days that she's not able to make it to the gym, she works out at home and as she's reported...gives the neighborhood something to talk about. Way to go Christina...your dedication is inspiring! Although Christina is relatively new to our program, she has excellent mechanics in all the movements, including the weightlifting techniques. It is truly a joy to watch her with a barbell. We are looking forward to seeing her progress, as she has already proven to have great strength, and with her dedication, her work capacity will certainly develop quickly. Christina...go get'em you BAD ASS!
Bruce is one of our strongest athletes, even though he falls into the "not-so-young" crowd. He joined our band of workout lunatics back in January, after receiving a gift certificate to our On Ramp program as a Christmas gift. He joined his wife Sally and daughter Megan, all of whom are very consistent in their attendance and they all work very hard. What an impressive family, in and out of the gym! We are so lucky to have them all. This will be Bruce's second competition. After only a month and a half training, he entered the CrossFit Montana Winter Challenge last February. He did excellent and took home the second place award. Hopefully, we'll see Bruce competing in the Master's Division of the CrossFit Games next year! Bruce's overall work capacity motivates everyone in the gym, and his occasional OOH RAH!!! (from his days in the USMC) always helps his fellow athletes push through a tough workout. Cut it loose Bruce!
Jessica, AKA "The Mexican Tornado" will be competing in her third competition in just over a year of following the CrossFit methods. Jessica came to the ONDEG program in search of improvements from the perspective of vanity, and quickly realized that true fitness was not centered on what the mainstream fitness industry labels "fit". She has certainly achieved greatly in all aspects of fitness, as well as exceeding her initial expectations of attaining a healthy physique. There's no doubt that her dedication to the workouts themselves as well as the study of exercise science will continue to contribute to her success. Her "never say die" attitude carried her to a first place victory in the beginner's division in last year's competition in Bozeman, after training for only a month. Then only six months later, in the CrossFit Montana Winter Challenge, she moved up to the Rx'd ("prescribed") division and walked away with second place! Jessica's positive attitude, generosity and work ethic are all appreciated by everyone in the gym. Tear 'em up Tornado!
I didn't feel comfortable writing my own profile, so the Tornado wrote one...read it here.
Any other ONDEG'rs gonna sign up?
