REST

Daily Pondering / Question of the Day:
- Do you nap? Some people can get by without them, some people can't get through the day without at least one. Some people can take 'em or leave 'em. I tend to nap if my sleep the night before (or a number of nights before) is not so good, either in length or restfulness. Sometimes, if I'm really tired, I can push through the day and wait until bedtime...then get a good night's rest. If my focus during the day is lacking and it's important that I be on top of things, then I'll find the time to get a nap to refresh and recharge. It's all about priorities. I recall one instance while deployed to Iraq: one of the corporals in my team had been working very hard and although he was very strong and capable, it was important that he rest while everyone else pulled his weight. The reason: he was the driver during our night-time missions, and it was critical that he be alert. As long as a nap serves a purpose and is not borne of laziness...then go for it.

Nap? what's that? Sometimes just sitting/laying down in total silence for 10 - 15 minutes does wonders to make me feel revived. it's hard finding that total silence though during the afternoons
