Beginners' Course Starts Monday
If you know of someone interested in starting our program, our new Beginners' Course is starting Monday, December 6th at 8pm. The course runs three weeks, Monday and Tuesday nights from 8-9pm.
Being a member of our gym has always had the prerequisite attending some sort of training program before jumping full-on into our workouts. The very first program for beginning athletes was called "Elements". Elements was a one-on-one "personal training" type of program. It quickly evolved into group training called "Boot Camp" in August of 2009. Boot Camp was conducted primarily at the Mini Park here in Choteau, with a few other locations added for variation. Those were the good old days, when everyone showed up rain or shine and we worked out in the early morning darkness as well as the twilight hours of the evening. Still today, we have as members a large number of the original Boot Camp athletes! As our program evolved and we moved from the Mini Park to the garage, to the old furniture store, we adopted the name "On Ramp" since we modeled our program after Nicki Violetti's On Ramp program. The name On Ramp was an analogy to getting on the freeway...coming up to speed and then merging into the full-on, high-speed traffic that is the regular group workouts.
Maybe we've come full circle? It would have been just as easy in the beginning to call it "Beginners' Course" since that is quite descriptive. But, at the time, a catchy name like "Elements", "Boot Camp" and "On Ramp" all seemed just a bit better. Regardless of the name, the concept is the same. Learn about nutrition, be trained in safe, effective movements, and be introduced to a concept of fitness that has been around for a while, but is now being accepted as the best method for real results.
