Speaking of Attitude...

...when's the last time you pushed yourself so hard that you puked?  Puking regularly during workouts is not necessarily recommended, but the occasional heaving over a bucket or garbage can or on the ground outside is a good indication where your attitude is during workouts.

Troy meets Pukie for the second time.

There's NO SUBSTITUTE for intensity when seeking results, regardless of the activity.  Think about your level of intensity the last time you:
  • studied for an exam
  • lifted something heavy
  • resolved to eat better
  • ran up a hill
  • pushed a plate across the floor
  • stubbed your toe and threw your cell phone against the wall because it hurt so damn bad
It's likely you accomplished more when you had intensity during all those activities.  The added pressure of a three minute time frame during yesterday's workout added to the intensity...and the result was a significant increase in many personal records!  Well done everyone!

Back to the puke thing:  if you feel nauseous during a workout, it isn't necessarily a bad thing.  When you get queasy...ask yourself:
  • Did I forget to hydrate properly?  BAD
  • Is it from swinging your head around (like what happens on the GHD)?  Could be BAD.
  • Am I pushing myself extremely hard?  NOT BAD
When Pukie peaks around the corner and encourages you to toss your cookies his way, evaluate the situation...stop if you think you will injure yourself, or keep going if it's just a matter of rinsing out the puke bucket, or replacing the garbage bag...as the case may be.
