ONDEG or NONDEG. You Decide.
Don't forget where you came from.
In the beginning, you were enveloped in a warm, comfortable, safe environment. Then, mainly due to circumstances beyond your control, you were thrust into a cold, hostile, foreign environment.
As you grew, you were faced with challenges, trials and tribulations. You had to make decisions...reveling in the success of the good decisions and living with the consequences of the bad ones.
Whether you want to accept it or not, you've lived life on the edge in your own way. You've defined the edge for the most part, and occasionally it's been defined for you. I'll bet you've learned more about yourself when you were pushed beyond your own self-imposed limits by someone else. Sometimes we need to go beyond the edge. You may get hurt. Accept the possibility that you may not recover. It may be worth it, it may not. But you'll never know until you've gone beyond.
If being comfortable is what you are comfortable with, then the edge is not for you. Getting comfortable with the uncomfortable will help you learn who you really are. Ask the people who seek the edge. They know. They don't forget. You are either on the edge or not.
Leaving the womb is our first step to the edge. Don't forget where you came from.
