Lifting...Ounces, Pounds...It Don't Matter

A few words from Frank:

When I sit down to have a couple beers or glasses of wine or cocktails...I do just that...SIT!  I relax, and I enjoy the drink...the taste and the "buzz".   Apparently that's not the case with everyone.  Especially when the drinks are consumed in the garage, surrounded by barbells, plates, and other heavy things.  Some people like to get their drink on, then talk about weightlifting and then do weightlifting.  Not me.  My head doesn't work that way when it's buzzed by the alcohol.  It doesn't matter if it's a few ounces or lots of pounds...the crazies can lift their weights anyway they want to...I'm sitting.

Why do I bring this up?  Well, apparently, I mentioned your crappy technique and some people took it personally.  That's good.  Because I was talking to you.  Yeah, YOU.  Then, after being informed of my somewhat offensive tone, I was asked how a person should do front squats if their technique is crappy.  I said do the front squats with technique that is not crappy.  The discussion went further...as you can probably imagine.

Here's a discussion on the CF message board that might help.

Next time...the difference between the front squat as a singular movement and the front squat as a component of the "squat" clean, and maybe we can delve into the front squat/clean as it applies to going overhead with the weight.

That's not all I have to say about that, but that's all I'm gonna say right now.

Yours in sufferance,

Frank

The CF message board said exactly what you were saying last night. It all boils down to doing it enough to gain flexibility, figure out what grip works for you as an individual(2 fingers, 3 fingers, no fingers...)and of course perfect your technique.See, I listen!
