No heavy lifting this week! We are taking a week's break from the heavy loads and getting a bellyful of high intensity "cardio".
Times:
3 sets:
Partners: Race to 500 (calories and reps)
Times:
- 6:00am, 8:30am, 6:00pm. Coach for all sessions: Tracy
3 sets:
- Inchworm (one length)
- Push-up x7
- Pull-up (dead hang - max each set)
- GHD sit-up x7
- GHR x7
- OHS (weighted PVC) x7
- Ride 0.25 mile (Three attempts)
Partners: Race to 500 (calories and reps)
- One partner rows and the other does burpees...how long will it take you and your partner to reach 500 total calories and reps?
- Burpee is facing a plate...jump on top of the plate instead of clapping while airborne.
- Foam roll wherever you feel tightness.
- "Calories in, calories out", "firming, sculpting, toning", "fat-burning"...that is what you get at the majority of other "fitness" groups/facilities here in Choteau as well as any other small town or big city across America. The "fitness" industry generates billions and billions of dollars across the globe, selling mostly crap. By "mostly", I mean at least 99.9%. Don't get caught up in the hype...dig deep for accurate information. There are no secrets as to how to best to increase strength and stamina, but the information is usually not what people want to hear. There are thousands, maybe millions of studies that purport to have uncovered previously unknown strategies and tactics to get the most from your "workout". So many products, routines and regimens are based on the flawed concepts of isolation movements, "fat-burning", and "cardio". Relying on time-tested and proven methods for development of strength and stamina is the simplest, most effective method, without having to wade through the myriad of "new" information. Unfortunately, here at ONDEG, you are expected to understand the science of strength, first and foremost. Without strength, nothing else matters. If you are unsure of what to believe, here's a good place to start. It's a shame that there's no pictures of sexy bodies, glistening atop pretty machines surrounded by mirrors to check how good you look. It's all dry, boring, and overwhelmingly useless. Read it and learn what to look for in the studies. If you don't want to read it, that's ok...just understand that I may want you to be strong more than you want it for yourself, and I'll keep reinforcing what I think is the best information for that end result. As long as you listen and work hard while in my gym, that's good enough. But don't forget, there's always more you can learn, and the best info for building strength and stamina doesn't necessarily come from the latest "research" and it certainly ain't gonna come from Shape magazine.
